Situated in the Jaintia Hills District of Meghalaya this village has monolith park, which has been declared as a protected place by the Archeological Survey of India. The tallest monolith in this park is 27 feet.
It is situated 90 kms. from Shillong and besides the picturesque village, offers many interesting sights such as the living root bridge and another strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock.
Discover India magazine declared the village as the cleanest in Asia in 2003 - and yes it lives up to its reputation with small conical cane dustbins all over the village, clean streets and houses, beautiful flowers lined along the streets and more !
